What qualifications do you need to work in a call centre?

5 gcses english preferrably and a c or higher
sales experience
knowledge of the products you're going to sell

customer service training is given on the job

TG
You must have limited English skills, an unintelligible accent, no desire to be helpful and a complete lack of knowledge of the company's products and services.

A thick skin because a lot of people are going to give you abuse for calling them, or hang up.

usaually, person who want to work in a call centre at least must have secondary education depend on that call centre's requirement. second, the command of the lauguage must be very good ,you need to answer call fluently , so relevant knowlege is a plus like attending training course for call centre , It will help you to get hired.

You need patience.

Working in a call center was the worst job of my life and I hope to never return. You talk to idiots all day with the exception of a few smart/nice people who have a legitimate problem. Everyone else wants to whine about problems they have created for themselves and yell at you when there is nothing you can do to help them. For every 10 mean people who degrade you and say you must have no education and curse at you, you might talk to one nice person. You will have hundreds of funny stories to tell people....

Beware it is a tough job and for those of you who call and are the nice people with real problems we really do want to help you, sorry if we are in a bad mood from the hundreds of other jerks they have talked to that day.

The good is they tend to pay a wage better the min wage.

And I am from the United States and speak prefect English!

Patience - you get some idiots calling in.

Diplomacy skills - you get some very annoyed customers who are seriously fed up and need to have a go at someone

confused
I'm guessing a few GCSE's (if that) would suffice for a basic call centre. Obvious anything specialist would need a higher level than that.

As far as I am aware none at all and from what I can make out from most call centres not even a basic knowledge of the English language is required, Indian maybe an advantage though!
