Nordstrom's is famous for having amazing return policies and customer service in general. There was a story floating around for a long time about them accepting a returned tire from a man who claimed he bought it there even though they don't sell auto parts. Walmart (though they are evil and I do not patronize them) is also very lax about accepting returns and I think will give you cash back on anything even without a receipt.

walmart's pretty easy with receipt, but they are all getting bad if you dont have a receipt

LL Bean has a great return policy. Zappos.com has one too. Target is pretty fair. Wal-Mart is ok. Nordstrom's is supposed to have (or used to) a very generous return policy.
