What to do about poor customer service??
Ok, so my husband and I bought some appliances from a store and we have had terrible customer service with them since we've had problems with our appliance. I want to let people out there know not to buy from this store, but I don't know how to go about this. I have reported them to BBB and the Attorney General, but I want the general public to know they problems they may come accross when they deal with this company. Does any body know of a website or something to where I could post some info??

I would not suggest public postings. Not good. If they are as bad as you indicate, they "may" seek damages.

I would suggest a letter to the manufacturer of the appliances. If you want to contact me at eejayi@yahoo.com, I can give you some suggestions for the letter.
Too long to post here.

Go to the web site of the manufacturer and find the address to contact the company. I doubt that you will find the name of the president or an executive, but great if you can. You can still address the letter to "The President", with the address.

I know what to write. I would need more details.
I owned a business, not appliances, but I know how to "get their attention".

In any event , Good luck.

There's a saying about a satisfied customer will tell one or two people, but a dissatisfied customer will tell 10, who will tell 10, etc. Word of mouth IS the best way to convey your dissatisfaction.

The route you have taken is the best. However, there are usually reporters for the local news stations that do some type of consumer reports. I see them all the time in Massachusetts. The reporters will interview you regarding your problem and then try to get answers from the retailer. The best part is they broadcast it on the news!!! There have been numerous reports that have ended with a happy customer. Nobody wants to be on the news as a retailer with poor customer service and problems. God luck!!

Become a member of ePinions and post it there.

Be completely factual, not emotional (no statements such as "terrible.") Simply state the details. Otherwise you might leave yourself open to a lawsuit.

If you want the store to hear you then go up the ladder. Start with the store manager, if they don't listen then go to the corporate sales manager. If they still do not respond (favorably) then write the CEO.

If it is a local distributor, then contact the customer relations manager for the appliance company; i.e. Fridadare, or Whirlpool. This will bring pressure on the store to comply. Especially if you threaten to go "public"

Another way to get the word out is to contact your local News stations. They like these kind of stories. That will get your message out, plus add weight to your complaint or get it resolved.

I agree with stand-up. Word of mouth goes along way.
