These kinds of jobs are usually easy to get, many don't have benefits, and although they hold high upside potential, a high percentage of these people do not succeed because they treat it like a job, rather than their own business.
The key is developing your personal customer base to market to regardless of what the company does for marketing. Of course, often this needs to be approved by the company, but you can always set up a separate marketing entity (that sell's leads to you) and not use the companies name in your promotions.
