The wire transfer is how they get the money they earn back to their families at home, crack down on this and that would be a start.
If they could not wire transfer, their would be black market wire transfers, which were cracked down upon after 9/11 because people used it as a way to fund terrorism. So we could still cut this off.
Unfortunately wire transfers, the legal kind our too useful a tool in business transactions. Try to bail Grandma out of jail in Reno without wiring the money to the bailbondsman or to Granny's lawyer. I have this problem at least 3-4 times a year.
The solution might be to require people to have a government issued ID to send money by wire transfer, only problem is is that frends and relatives would do this for people. |

I love playing 'what if' games, especially ones that will NEVER happen (though i agree the scenario should)!@ If it wasn't so enticing, so easy to stay in the US illegally, people simply -would not- want to come here, and a lot of issues in this country could be solved. We could take care of our actual citizens and legal residents instead of taking away from them to cater to law breakers like illegals.
one of the things that disgusts me most- illegals hopping the boarder to give birth, hospitals won't send them away, the rest of us end up paying their bill AND they get to stay because they dropped their offspring on this side of the line, making them a 'citizen'. I say no citizneship UNLESS your mother has been here legally for at least 6 months- that would slow 'em down. Or how about- your child, the citizen, can stay, but you're going home- you can take or leave your child. |

Here's an idea.
Its called a public works project. If you remember Lewis Black's stand up special, "Live at Carnegie Hall", he advises we build a "big f'ing thing." It creates jobs and gives people money, which they then spend, and stimulates our economy. Lewis stipulates it could be anything, it doesn't matter what. As long as "its big and its a f'ing thing". How about a BIG "F'ING" WALL between the US and Mexico? |
