I ordered tires from Costco.com last year but due to unforseen circumstances was unable to install them. They are suppose to cancel the order after 30 days then automatically refund the full price, but didn't.
5 months later still no refund. So I contact them. They say I have to contact the tire department at the store. Person who answers there has no idea what to do, tells me to call someone else. So they give me the run-around. So I call the corporate office and they said they would issue a refund within 15 business days. Well it's been over 20 business days and no refund!!!!!!!!!!
It's too late to dispute the charges with my credit card because you can only do it within 60 days.
What should I do next??????????????? Contact the BBB and State Attorney?????? $500 is a lot of money to me!!!!!!
I have always thought Costco as a great store and have spent over $10,000 there over the years but may never shop there ever again because of this mess.
I always thought Costco was a good store. You never know until something like this comes up. I would be calling them everyday until I got my money in hand. They would get tired of me calling and send me the money!!!! I would also call the BBB and I would tell them I was calling the BBB until this thing is resloved. $500 is a lot of money! Good luck!!!

Contact BBB and local media consumer relations reporter.
Companies such as Costco will cave if they are called by reporter because they absolutely can not stand to have negative publicity.
One thing to do is take a day and go down there with all your paperwork from corporate. Start with the person in the tire department and work your way up to the store manager, one person at a time. Note when and who you talk to and what they said. Once you have gone through the entire store, tell the manager to call the district manager, then the regional manager. If at any time someone balks at getting their manager. Inform them you will be contacting the local media as they will not live up to their own policy.

Contacting the Better Business Bureau is a good first step that shouldn't cost you any money. Have everything documented, every transaction, every phone call, and report them to the BBB. That might get it started. If that doens't work, you may attempt to file a Small Claims suit against them, which should only cost you about $20 to file and doens't require a lawyer.

Contact them again if that gets you nowhere call BBB Cosco will jump right on it then. Most businesses say a refund in 30 business days and I am betting that is what you are looking at but contact them again if they can show no sign of working on the refund contact BBB.
