Last year I did the same thing. But it was extremely difficult to find a place that sold a large black tutu. I ended up making one with an elastic band that was fitted to my waist size. I bought a lot of tutu fabric and started to sew through it so that later on I could slip the elastic through the slot I sewed. It suprisingly turned out great, considering I have zero sewing potential. It may be your only way to go, but either way, good luck! |

Any dancewear store will sell them. They can be expensive. You can try www.discountdance.com
The suggestion to make your own is good. Take a pair of knit shorts and use them as your base. Then add layers of tulle fabric sewn in rows until you have one big enough. The fabric that is used is tulle and you want the cheap heavy thick kind. You can buy it at Walmart or Joann Fabrics for about $1.00 a yard. You want a lot of it. |

Try searching for it. I did a quick search adn found quite a few places for them. My search was (tutus phoenix arizona). One was Shoplocal.com. It showed they sold them at Target on Baseline road. Another place was ballet arizona.They are in Phoenix and the phone # is 602-381-1096. They are on Indian School Road. I would try them first. Just call them and ask them where to get one. They might even know somone who has a used one.
