Communications - Proper evaluations give feedback both to the employee and to management. It is important to have this communications. That is what makes companies and employees grow. Now - does that work in reality. Often it doesn't Supervisors don't want to tell the truth especially if it may hurt them and employees don't want to tell the truth because they are afraid that it might hurt them. |

Its all about control Neo.
there are several goals
1. you must give cost of living adjustments (COLA)
2. you need to motivate for improved performance
3. you need weed out poor performance
4. you need to determine the hierarchy of talent within the organization to know what intellectual assets you have.
say you can afford a 3.5% COLA for everyone, and you have to spend it all. (not to would send a bad message to your senior managment that you haven't sufficiently compensated your employees).
some employees are good workers and get more.
some employees are poor workers and get none.
some employees are promoted
some employees are fired.
it turns out that as many get promoted as get fired and as many get raises as not.
funny how that works. and you didn't really need to meet with any of them.

well its help determine how well employee are driving their sales goals, performances, customers service attitudes; if the employee have or had not learned the company vision and purpose and goals. If you employee does not fulfill the company vision and goals, the company would not want to waste their time and money to hire that individuals. I believe its all common sense. Own you own business if you or that person does not like to be control and told what to do. hope this helps. |
