IF a valid number appears, it is whatever number they called from. As likely as not, whatever number appears is NOT a dial-able number.

depends on what business it is. most in-state companies will just have a reg number and some out of state. if they have more than one number with their company then most likely it will just pop up a 1800 #

A valid number has to be displayed on your caller ID, otherwise it will be in violation of the national do not call list. They also need a prior business relationship to be able to call you if you are on the do not call list.
