When and why do shoppers wait in the line in the supermarket?

because everytime i try to push my way to the front, some old lady hits me with her purse.

if a shoper has an item that they would like to purchace, then they would wait in line at a supermarket, for their turn at the regesture. that way, they can pay the proper amount of money for the item that they want.
if you want to know why they pay, then its because paper money is backed up by huge amounts of gold. people a long time used to trade gold. also know an buying, because gold was consiterd money.
when the person, or people who make a product to put in a supermarket, then they need to be re-inbherst (paid back) whatever they have used up in supplys in making that item in the store. so when you buy an item, the money gets back to the person who made the item, so he can use that money to buy what he needs to make whatever he wants to put bck in the store.

i know thats confusing. sorry.
and shopers wait in line when they have something with them that they would like to purchace, and only if they wish to leave with that item.
if you have two (or more) items, then you do not have to buy them sepratly, you may buy them at the same time. ^.^

i hoped this helped with your question.
have a good time shoping.

your kidding, right?

They wait in line when there are a lot of customers and not enough checkers. They wait because they want to buy whatever they are buying more than the want to leave the things behind and go home. It's probably quicker to wait in line than to come back later and start all over!
