Probably NEVER --- we're headed for $3+ forever more. . . gotta keep the Bush clan rolling in dough, dontcha know???

PatV
Gas will probably never drop below $2 in the next 5 yrs. The rest of the world has paid more for fuel far longer than we have, you might say we're just catching up to them.
And if gas companies thought people wouldn't pay $3, they've been pleasantly surprised. There hasn't been a decrease in our demand for gas/oil, so expect prices to hover and continue to slowly climb above the $3 mark.
You will personally pay less for gas if you use less gas. Fewer visits to the pump are the only way to save money on fuel.

They will go up and down a little, but I don't think we will ever see it under $2 again. Not until the demand goes down, which won't happen until people are willing to give up their gas hog SUVs and trucks and switch to more fuel conservative vehicles.

I don't think it is but if it does we will all be grateful.

?
well, not in the near future, as the winter is comming, they might go up further as the demand for oil goes up

Jeff F
They probably wont. This is due to the fact that gas is a limited resource that we are using up at a rapid rate. The price will not see prices under $3 a gallon in the near future, because China is about to start consuming much more gas. We as the United States will be fighting for gas supplies against China. So as a result we will be forced to pay more for a barrel of oil because we will have to offer more for it than China will. So the price could triple, or quadruple. This is the most likely result that a large chunk of scientist, and people see. We are spoiled and cannot support these gas hog SUV’s that people want to drive. People, we might be paying $6 a gallon pretty soon. The gas is running out, and we aren’t really looking for alternatives now are we?
