In the UK it's a matter of time. Everyone just can't continue on the current level of debt, it's gotta go pop sometime.
Interesting that the only thing people can say about the Conservative party is high interest rates (that's good for savers). But Labour have totally outweighed this with Taxes and everyone keeps voting for them? Doesn't stack up.
The way Labour are with money, it'll be the Conservative party problem to sort the mess out and the recession will start so people will blame the Conseravties again.
And as for Gordon Brown, t1ts on a fish have more use. |

Very soon in the U.K. Taxes and debt levels have been rising very fast in the U.K. and this has kept the economy going by people spending (on debt) and the government wasting money on public services with poor value,etc. People's are now struggling to pay debt and utility bills,mortgages,local council taxes are rising very fast also.
Cheap goods from china have kept the shops busy but people are starting to pay out more than they earn and starting to save more money and trying to pay credit cards off.
Thank you gordon brown, lets hope you do a better job as PM

In the US, as soon as we elect a democrat for President, with a democrat Congress. We seem to be OK with a democrat President and Republican Congress (Clinton era), a Republican President and democrat Congress (Reagan era), or even a Republican President and Congress (Bush II). |

The countdown has started - the USA is going in to recession - their stock markets have been poor for the last year. they don't know whether to raise interest rates or cut them to stimulate the economy. They have idiots running the country and no concerns about the global environment. They need to cut interest rates and raise taxes on vehicle and aviation fuel and that may prevent a recession. When the USA sneezes - the UK catches the cold - is the saying - but we do a lot of business now with Europe - so we can withstand their recession, maybe. The slide of the dollar against both the pound and the Euro is showing that the great US is on a slippery slope - and set to get worse as we raise interest rates this week - and the European central bank may follow suit this time. We could see the almighty $$$ worth less than 50p |
