I'm uncertain what has the best effect when writing a CV. Should it be addressed as the 1st or 3rd person or should it defy grammar and comprise statement such as "Managed the ..", "Was responsible for ....", "Lead a team of .....". Bearing in mind the CV needs to get through a number of gates before it gets to the budget holder/recruiter i.e. the Agency Researcher, the Agency Account Manager, the Client HR department then the Dept Manager. |

The latter is the best way to go - was responsible for, lead a team of etc. In your personal statement you can refer to yourself in the first person. |

I would either go with first person or do your third option with "Was responsible for..." Good Luck in your job search! |

Definintely write in the 1st person.
Also - don't just mention what you did - but also what you learnt from it.
e.g. Lead a team of.... where I learnt important skills about how to work effectively in a large group of people, yada, yada.

I was made redundant a few years ago and was sent on a course to improve my CV, interview technique, etc.
I was taught it should be a mix of 3rd person (ie in personal statement, highly motivated individual, etc) and your 3rd option (used in points under career history - managed, etc). Sounds more professional and removes the repetitive I did, I this, I that. |
