It depends on your personality. If you have a hard time handling a lot of things at once, then being a cashier can be overwhelming, and dishonest customers might try to take advantage of that. It also depends on your work style. If you get flustered easily, pick a quieter store; if you're energetic and love fast paced work, pick a busier store. It can be a fun job if you work somewhere that sells something that you like; and one that suits your personality. The only way for you to really know is to try it out. Good luck in whatever job you decide to get! (I haven't worked in a clothing store, but I have done retail).

Depends what type of personality you have. If you like dealing with people, lots of complaints, and can stay happy and helpful while standing for hours, yes it would be easy.
I prefer working on the floor or doing stock and freight but thats because I don't like dealing with all those people all day.

i worked at a shoe store, "The Shoe Dept" and being a cashier was the easiest thing to do there. I loved it when there was a long line 'cause that meant I didn't have to clean up the place or annoy people with a million "can i help you?!"s.

the work itself is easy but then you have to spend the day with no boob preteens

Ugh I hate retail they work your *** off. Especially when you are in High School. Go work at some where fun like great america, be a waitress or somewhere fun...not retail..it sucks *** trust me..

Being a cashier is easy, but dealing with people is hard. I do not recomend retail because you do end up with problems that are annoying and you start hating your life, if it is the only job you can find then go for it, but if you can find something else it is prolly better. Just from experience, I am trying to get out of my retail job right now.

It requires the most responsibility because you are in charge of the money.
