Stephanie | Where can I address a letter of complaint about a Home Depot employee? |
My mom and her husband went to buy some paint, long story short, my mom wanted to change the paint color and asked if it was too late, the employee snapped and said "Yes! It's too late." So she bought a color she didn't want, and gave my stepdad some yard sticks and said "Here, this is so you can beat your wife" and he also said if he wants to hide from her they will hide him under the desk. I need a corporate address and to whom should I address this complaint? |

You can contact Home Depot's online customer service. Be sure to detail the situation with as much information as possible, especially names, physical descriptions of the employees and the store location (town/street.) Last time I had a complaint, they responded within twenty-four hours and said they'd send me a gift card for my trouble.
Of course that was weeks ago and I have yet to see the gift card. |

You have a few options:
-call the store and talk to the store manager
-call the store and get the district manager's name and number
-check the home depot website for a corporate complaint line or email address
Use detail: names, times, store address, receipt number, etc
Personally, I'd start with the district manager. The store manager might want to sweep it under the rug and it may take the corporate office longer to respond. |

ask the store manager for the number to the district manager. if the district manager doesn't do anything ask him for the corporate manager. take it as far up as you need. that was just wrong. |

If you can't find it on the net go to the store and ask for the manager and tell him what happened and ask for the address. |

First off, the paint is still Home Depot's until the item is paid for. There is no obligation to purchase mixed paint if it isn't what you want. You just can't return or exchange mixed paint that has been paid for. Secondly, if there has been employee misconduct as you claim, the manager on duty should be more than capable to address the situation. If you do not get satisfaction then the customer care center should be called, 800-553-3199, M-F 8a-8p EST, SA-Su 8a-6p EST. Any complains will be addressed by the proper level of management. |

Well, I checked Home Depot's site....and it's a general email.
You could always call the store you were in and ask for the Market manager's email or addy you can send a snail letter to. |

What you need is to get the chip off your shoulder. This kind of banter goes on just about anywhere you go. How did this employee offend you? Better yet - did your mother take offense? I would almost bet not.
Get a life - there are more serious things to complain about. |

I'm a home depot employee and I have to say that I think you should go screw yourself!
FYI: If you provide our paint department with a color sample and they mix that paint for you then YOU EAT IT! Once the paint is mixed it CAN'T be changed! Any questions?
HD is set up for people who Know WTF they're doing when it comes to home projects.
If you don't like it, go to Lowes next time! |

why are you even involved? if anyone would should be doing this its ur mom or stepdad. not you. stay out of it. the other thing is, WHO CARES? i'm sure that employee was just joking or having a bad day. let it slide. im sure they'll have a better experience the next time they go there. everyone has bad days. im sure she didnt mean that comment, and while sensitive crybabies would take that comment seriously, DON'T take it seriously. she just had a bad day. isnt everyone entitled to having a bad day once in a while? u gotta learn to let things roll off ur shoulders. this complaint isn't worth getting someone FIRED over or tarnishing their record. that lady didn't cuss at ur mom or anything, she didn't even hit her. if you get that lady fired, u could be taking away her livelyhood and how would she live? thats not fair, over a joking comment like that. how would u like it if u made a comment like that and u were having a horrible day then next thing u know YOU were getting fired? learn to pick ur battles, and ur mommy is old enough to choose her own battles. butt out of it. next time, tell ur stepdad to say "i'm glad i dont have YOUR job." that will get that person to shut up. |
