You can also go on the finance section of yahoo or msn and type in the ticker symbol for publicly traded companies. Then, on the left hand side of the page, there should be a link called "financial statements" or "financials." If you need extensive research, go to their website and view their 10-K report (annual report).

You can also look on the companies web pages, typically under the "investor relations" section, then "reports". For US companies you should look for "Form 20-F".

Use the edgar database that someone else mentioned. To be a listed and publicly traded company you MUST file annual and quarterly financial statements with the SEC and the SEC must post them on the edgar database.
But, Form 20-F is not what you want. You want the 10K (annual filing completely audited) or the or the 10Q (quarterly filing limited auditing) The actual financial statements will be near the back of those files after the Mgmt Discussion and Analysis (mostly BS).
