I dropped out of HS before the 10th grade. tried to work for two years and could only find minimum wage jobs. (at the time, that was $1.75/hr)
finally, I just swallowed my pride and went back to school. moved in with some relatives. got support from my moms church and finished HS at the age of 19 with a diploma. after school the last year, I attended a Vo-tech school and learned drafting.
The summer I graduated, I got a job as an Engineering Aide, doing little drafting jobs, making prints and running errands for a big construction project. it paid $6/hr in 1971 ($18/hr now)
with the money I saved that summer. I started going to night school at the local Community college....
Education is the only key you need. It doesnt take hard work, just steady consistent work every day.

look into joining a union, they pay a lot without you needing much qualifications education-wise. Even Ralphs is union-ized and that's easy stuff like cashier |

should have stayed and gotten HS education. Even Lowes and Home depot are going to hire people with a HS ed. ahead of you. People figure if you cant even get through high school, how reliable are you really going to be as an employee. There are a lot of places in the country where industry is in decline that laid off workers with college degrees have to take those jobs at stores and fast food. |
