Where did Walmart get there stocks (Merchandise) from?
It seem like Walmart is offering a cheap price for their merchandise. I want to know how can they sell for less and still make a profit and where did they get there stuffs from?
Walmart's strategy was to eliminate the middle man and go directly to the manufacturer. This eliminated a lot of the markups at each middle level - wholesaler, distributor and thus they are able to offer the customers a lower price and to make a larger profit margin.
Hope this helps

they get it from all over, but mostly overseas. they also sell some items, at little or no profit, to get the customers in the door, and then hope you buy some of the items with higher profit margins.

They purchase from various sources like every other company, but where they excel is price negotiations and logistics. If you read the news, you will see that Wal-Mart has been pushing for their truck fleets to improve fuel efficiency constantly. Not only does this save the environment, it means they spend less on fuel which helps keep prices low. They are also installing new types of lights and skylights for natural lighting. Again reduces energy spending which keeps prices down. Some stores also reuse old motor oil from the Tire/Lube express to help heat the store. So you see its not just where they get it, its also how they get it to the stores and how the stores operate that help keep prices down.
