Where do i stand, on my order?
i ordered a camera from amazon for £3.43 and they were in stock so the order form said, then they changed the price to £799.99 and sent me an email saying my order has been cancelled because they are out of stock. are they trying to fob me off because they made a mistake and dont want me to have the cheaper goods
No seller is legally obliged to sell you the item at the advertised price. It's not yours until you've paid for it (Did they actually take the money - as this is the key to your claim?).
Otherwise, it would have been simpler for them to tell you that there was a price error and it wasn't being sold. That's the law.

I'd guess you're unlucky but someone with trading standards knowledge may have a different opinion.

Yes: The determining factor is, did they take your money. If the funds were returned back, then you will have to pay the higher price. If they held the funds waiting for the balance, they owe you the product at the original price. It is your right to make a decision to buy or not buy without fair that you will loose the funds you have at risk (funds they are holding).

most of these companies have it in their terms and conditions that pricing errors dont count and you have no rights under the consumer credit act to be provided with the product at the price advertised as the price advertised was human error... i think common sence would prevail in someone seeing an £800 camera for under a fiver and expecting it not to be a pricing error.

Challenge them about it. They probably made a mistake but they are legally obliged to sell it at the lower price. Make sure you take advantage of the situation.
