I went with a deaf friend to a fast food restaurant for lunch this week. The clerk became indignant when my friend asked him to repeat some things. Even after my friend pointed to his hearing aid to show why he was asking the clerk to repeat things the rudeness continued. I learned afterwards that this happens a lot and my friend says it is mostly at fast food restaurants. I guess if people depend on tips to supplement their incomes they stretch to accomodate the handicapped.
I thought this was rude and I won't go back. I should have asked for the manager but I didn't want to cause embarassment. I learned something from the event though. |

To be honest none. There are several businesses I regularly spent money while I'm fully aware and reject a lot of their practices including Mc Donalds for example.
Maybe some day this will change but I'm a hypocrite when it comes to this kind of issues. I think it's a good thing I realize it though. The easier way out was to block all the negative things I know about the companies and lie to myself I'm totally not hypocritical like too many people do. They don't have values but look what they do, justify their behavior and from there derive their so called values.
I do try to do my best to live up to my standards and in many areas I do but my consumption is a field where I totally fail. Mainly because of convenience and or laziness if that isn't the same |

I've boycotted Kwik Trip. After 9/11 (at least in my town) they waited until the competing gas stations in their immediate vicinity closed and then raised their gas prices 50 cents per gallon. |

Crabby Joe's Restaurants. Food portions are small for the price and as for the waitstaff, I have met friendlier rabid starving pitbulls, the restaurant itself and the washrooms are far from clean as well.

I boycott Boarders because when I buy an overpriced little orange juice they don't give me a cup with ice because of the great expence. They also respent people who regularly go there to study in the cafe even when every time you go there you buy overpriced food and drink and books. |
