Which is better, eBay or Amazon?

I like Amazon because they are better about there customer service if something gets damaged, broken, or never arrives. Ebay has very little protection when it comes to this and you can really get shafted sometimes.

I personally prefer Ebay.

well it depends on what you want to buy.. you can get great bargains on eBay, but u may end up paying more than the product actually is. You could just clikc on the Buy Now option if you dont want to bid. For amazon, things are usually cheap there as well, but you cant get really really really cheap stuff.

hope this helps!

If you are looking for the best possible deal you can find on the web, definitely ebay.com. However, if you are looking for quality plus a somewhat discounted from the regular store price, then I strongly suggest amazon.com. By the way, amazon.com prices fluctuate, so even if it cost $50 one day, it might cost $35 the next day. Hope I helped.

RickshawNYC
ebay is usually cheaper. I assume you are looking for books because of your name and i find that since i buy books to read them i would rather have a $4 used book with some highlights or something thats cheaper than a $25 amizon hardcover.

Molly
ebay... everything on amazon is the same price but on ebay u can find the same stuff but itll b cheaper

I absolutely LOVE Amazon! I used to use eBay and I couldn't stand it, so I finally left. Amazon is 10x's better. To answer your questions:

1. No, you don't get charged if the item doesn't sell. That's one of the greatest advantages to selling on Amazon. If the item does sell, they take a small commission (usually a few bucks, depending on how much the item sells for), but if it doesn't sell it's not a problem. You're not charged a cent.
2. When they do take their cut of the total, it's taken immediately out of the transaction, so you don't miss it at all, nor do you need to pay them at a later date.
3. It's fairly easy to use once you get the hang of it. It's kind of a long process though, but I'd be more than happy to give you more information! Email me if you'd like to know more and I'd be happy to send you all of the information in an email.

sincereaaron
ebay is better if you know how to use it.

you can get literally 99% off the retail value of items on ebay sometimes.

on amazon, you have a set price, its like you got into a store and buy good stuff for way cheap

but ebay, you still have what amazon has, but also with the bidding thrill aswell, it gives you a chance to win something that might cost 100$ for only 10$! with amazon, thats impossible to find

ebay is a den of thieves though, while amazon has more trusting stores, ebay is for experienced users who score big, while amazon is for the occasional shopper who wants a good buy.

Amazon, without a doubt. eBay is such a pain in the neck.

Different sites for different things. For hard to find items, it would be ebay. You may also get the item cheaper but would have to deal with the seller if the item is not what you thought it would be (condition) and the shipping is controlled by the seller. Amazon is a sure thing especially if you don't mind paying that one set price and you know for sure that you would get your item.

eBay is good if your looking for something cheap. But the only problem with eBay, is that the quality might not be that great.

With Amazon, you may be paying more, however, you are guaranteed that your product will be top quality.
