I have memberships to both, but buy my big ticket items at COSTCO (Cosco is the huge international shipping company). Costco has more better quality durable goods than Sam's Club (in my opinion), however, I probably buy more of my food stuffs at Sam's Club. I find the prices are relatively the same for like or near like food items, but Sam's Club has more variety in the food. Here's what I'd do, ask for a one day pass at both places, they'll be happy to give it to you, then go in and compare prices, which place is more convenient to your shopping, both access and goods sold. Then buy an executive membership at the one you will probably buy your big ticket items at for the 2% rebate.
Key factors for me, Food staples such as water, milk, bread, beer, wine, baby diapers.
Other bargins on savings: Gasoline, Tires, Optical (contacts), Travel (vacation packages) and the Pharmacy can save you big bucks, and you do have to be a member to use it (only the pharmacy). |
