Paid $386. ballance - They took $886. and claimed that my three looked like an eight in the block, but it was printed out in ling hand where it was suposed to be. They were suposed to refond my 500, but they gave me a credit of 286. and I missed that it was a credit and misstook it for my due payment. Now they sed me a charge of$247dollars and my listed charges for the month only add up to $174 . They can't explain. Double talk. I have called twice and my wife called today and they couldn't answer her. We are on SSI and they are killing us.

If they are in breach of the contract you signed, sue them; any lawyer would be happy to take on a defendant with such deep pockets! But if by "ripping you off" you mean "charging you fees they said they would charge you if you did that", then you can only blame that guy in the mirror! He's the one that keeps doing the dumb stuff they TOLD you they would charge you extra fees for!

I suspect there's more to the story than you are telling. Could it be that your mismanagement of the account plays a part?

Write letters to your congress person, stating the problems and asking them to issue laws against banks for certain issues, such as high interest rates, credit card fees, etc. Other than that there is no one, what you can do personally is payoff the card and do no more business with the bank. In fact, try to payoff all your debt and become debt free. A good source of information on how to deal with these predators is the book The Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey. In it you will learn how to deal with banks and how to become debt free.
