Each Corporation has a Chief Executive Officer. This person is the senior operating Executive ultimately responsible for all the important decisions that are made within the Company.

Normally, the only Company officer that is higher in rank than the CEO, is the Chairman of the Board. The Chairman does not normally get involved in the day to day decisions of the Company, as that is the job of the CEO.

The CEO usually holds the title of President of the Company, but this is not always the case.

CEO pay varies widely, from hundreds of thousands of dollars per year to millions and millions. The larger the Company, generally, the higher the pay. A few CEO's elect to take a ceremonial salary of $1, and take the rest of their pay in the form of bonuses and stock, tied to how well the Company is doing financially.

You can visit the respective companies' website to find out who the CEO is. If its a public listed company, you can find the CEO's pay/bonus in the financial reports.

Shall I pick a company? Why not? GE. A large company held by many investors. Jeff Immelt is the CEO. Pay is somewhere in the neighborhood of $15 to $17 million annually. It is somewhat difficult to come up with a real number because there are so many perks attached to the job. How do you value them? Such as a company jet at your beck and call. An expense account that would be beyond belief of most people. And a lot of that is tax free. What do you think that is worth?

Not bad compensation considering the company has underperformed the market indexes by about 30% during the last 5 years. What would he be worth if he actually did a decent job?

Ummmmm;. Which company are you asking about?!?!?!!??

The pay of the company's CEO (Chief Executive Officer) depends on the company and the industry. Many CEOs have not just salaried pay, but also stock options. It all depends on the terms of the contract between the executive and the company.
