when the external audit start, should company give the auditor the balance sheet and P&L with trial balance or only the trial balance. Who is responsible to make P&L and balance sheet for the company, the company or the external auditor. |

The company's accountant normally does the balance sheet. However, the chief financial officer is the person who is ultimately responsible for the accuracy of the balance sheet. ..and the CEO has the ultimate responsibility for the financial reports of the company. It is advisable that your company use an outside auditor to audit its books and sign a stetement indicating the validity and statement of accuracy of the company's books or financial statements prior to the IRS or SEC audit. Note: Most companies now have a Chief Compliance Officer who is the person responsible for the accuracy of the company's books and is a requirement by the SEC and is governed by Sarbanes Auxley or SOX requirements. The company's management is totally and wholly responsible for the accuracy of the data included in the financial statement. Sarbannes-Oxley assured that. Management asserts that it's controls over risks of misstatements is low. Auditors, through testing, simply confirm or deny management's assertion that the balance sheet fairly represents the company's position at the date of the balance sheet. |

If You have a very good accounting Package system like tally,SAP & so on it itself derive the P & L and Balance Sheet so on.
The arithmetical accuracy, allocation,provision and final trimming work can be done by the auditor based on the facts & figures available from the Trial Balance.
Based on the Accounting Standard,Policy The auditor may decide to choose the picks & spans to fix in to the proper heading to mold and gives a required shape in line with the statutory requirements. |
