means all the people at the bottom end of the mortgage and title production chain.

countrywide made a killing and now dumping workforce ; typical; get out of there anyway ; mortgage companies are going to take a beating ; all the people that made money are gone

Look at it logically - if they are cutting brokers and officers, that means a smaller requirement for underwriters. Get out the resume and start updating it!

Phishr
I read that the department dealing with sub prime is being cut completely. I can't recall if it was Reuters, CNN or MSN that I read it on, but that was the gist. Other cuts will be made also, but that was the biggest.

Skippy The Wondertard
Skippy say in business cuts usually come from the bottom. So the least important lowest paid people will be cut first.
Skippy say or could cut departments or whole offices that arent producing.
