First things first, copyright is free! It is created once you put pen to paper - so it really won't protect you in any way!
Secondly, before you divulge any idea to ANYONE, you should put in place a confidentiality agreement between you and the party to which you are speaking. If they are legitimate, they will have no difficulty in doing this!
That aside, you need to prepare a business plan before anyone will give you the time of day. You will also need to conduct some market research. If it is an internet business, then I could provide some further information....just drop me an e-mail....
