The last couple of times I've been there the employees have been very rude and unhelpful. This has been at separate store locations too. They'll just look at you with a blank stare or they won't even acknowledge you and keep on trying to look busy. Are they having union trouble or something? |

They definitely have gone downhill in the last year. I went in to arrange a delivery of over $2,000 in stuff. The truck never came even though every call to the store said that the delivery was on the truck. After the truck had stopped delivering for the night I went to the delivery counter. Turns out the guy had never entered the delivery date and the people on the phone had been lying to me all day.
So what changed? A year ago, Home Depot was full of cheerful people happy to help you and to instruct you on how to do home improvement projects. Now it's full of zombies staring you down with blank faces and, when they do talk, talking down to you as if you're an idiot. |

Bob Nardelli, Home Depot's former CEO, cut employees wages to help their bottom line profits. Customer service went down as a result. Nardelli was fired but unfortunately is now CEO of Chrysler. He'll screw them up.
I don't bother to shop at Home Depot anymore. Lowes pays more attention to customers. |

It's a crappy job because they have crappy managment. They got a new CEO some time back, but the message isn't getting out to the ground level people.
I simply stay away from Home depot as much as possible. |

Home Depot is non union. If I encounter rude or unhelpful employees, I go to the service desk and calmly but assertively ask for a manager to help me find what I need. |

Because they are unpaid, overworked and bitter that they didn't get an education and pissed off that they have to deal with alot of rude, stupid people all day. |

They don't have a good training program and don't hire people with knowledge to the areas that they work in. They are constantly frustrated with questions from customers they can't answer. |
