Well, if the temperature's hot, who wants to buy a lot of coffee or hot drinks? Keep the temperature cold, and subconciously, people will be more apt to buy the bigger sizes. And as someone else has already pointed out, people are less likely to dawdle over their coffee, the way they do in a warmer place like Barnes and Noble's coffee shop.
Sounds like a good marketing strategy to me. |

maybe it makes you want hot drinks, but the one I usually go to is nice and warm. Especially at night. the atmosphere is just great. But i know what you mean, it does tend to get cold in many locations. good question. probably just to make everyone happy because you can put on sweaters and pants and stuff, but it's very hard to cool yourself off without a fan or something. |

Actually, I'd leave if the store was too cold - I'd never stand in line if the store was less than 70°. As for it being too hot in the store to want to drink hot coffee, no such thing unless it was 110° and 100% humidity.
BTW none of the Starbucks in my area has ever been as cold as you describe your store. |

According to my engineering friends, its done to make you drink more hot coffee. Definitely not to make you leave. Also, some people become abnormally warm when drinking hot coffee. (like me) ANYONE know whats wrong with SEC football today ? |
