I DON'T KNOW WHY THEY THINK THEY HAVE TO BE UNLESS THEIR EMPLOYEES AREN'T DOING THEIR JOBS. A WOMAN I WORKED FOR A FEW YEARS AGO WAS A GREAT BOSS AND WE BECAME BEST FRIENDS AND ARE LIKE FAMILY. I JUST RESPECTED HER POSITION AS BOSS AND DID MY JOB LIKE I WAS SUPPOSED TO. I WOULD LIKE TO THINK I AM THE SAME KIND OF BOSS. SEVERAL OF MY EMPLOYEES ARE VERY DEAR FRIENDS. |

This is what I call the "Patrol Boy Syndrome". As you notice, the nicest kids get chosen for patrol boy (and now girl) and then, they let the power get to their heads and become the biggest jerks and nerds in the school. This often carries over to the adults in the corporate world. |

I once knew a supervisor who considered the workers "horses".
The interesting thing is that the so-called bosses are just as low on the Totem Pole as the workers.
The only top bananas are the Chief Executive officers.
Those with C.E.O. or C.F.O. titles have the rest of the working world in the palm of their hands.
When people wake up to the actual corporate structure, then maybe we could stop calling supervisors "bosses".
Through their influence with the Board of Directors, Chief Executives get fat pay packages even when the corporation is faltering.
That's pay for wasting corporation's money.
