Why are most CEO's english majors?

Maggie Mae
Did you know many CEO's are eagle scouts? It's true.

Notice I said 'many' not 'most' -- ;)

Regarding your question, I'd like to see your source. That's a mighty big claim you're making with 'most were english majors.'

well assuming you're correct in your assumption, it's because they know how words work, they can read contracts and create them as well without any trouble, they know how to manipulate people with words, etc.

Most U.S. CEOs are MBAs. Finance and accounting majors to my knowledge. Many are also lawyers possibly the English undergrads.

Employers know the difference between education and training. That is why they provide specific task-related training to most, if not all, of their employees. What employers do not provide is education. That is why they value the kinds of abilities and skills that English majors learn:

To think and understand critically

To analyze, explain, and interpret diverse information

To research and document accurately

To organize logically

To write and speak concisely, accurately, and persuasively

To problem-solve creatively

To respect diverse points of view

To work effectively with others

To learn how to learn and adapt continually.

These skills are also among those listed by the National Center for Higher Education as the most important job skills for the 21st century.
