All these autoworkers should be told your going to make 15 hour or you have no job. They do not need to make 30 a hour plus benefits when al ot more the the jobs are done by machine's. I guarantee you that if you open up these jobs at 15 a hour they will all be filled within a week. Also though management needs to go also because they are just as lazy and inept collecting big salaries while doing nothing. |

Where do you people get these figures,the pay and benefits are $50 for UAW members and $45 for a Toyota worker.
The $50 is without the pensions of the already retired workers,that figure is around $20 an hour,but when the UAW takes over the health care fund in 2010 it will lower the cost by $15.
The pension fund for GM and Chrysler is over funded and these companies don't have to pay a dime into the pension fund for 3 years, |

Its a myth! UAW workers make apx. $2.00 hr more than the Toyota and Honda Transplants and the only reason that Toyota and Honda pay them as high as they do is just so their workers wont allow the UAW to organize. In fact if you want to compare the new workers at the Big three (which only make 14.00hr) Toyota probally pays out more in wages overall. Its the retirees and the economy that's killing the big three. |

that is what was negotiated for them by the union. No some just sweep floors for $30 an hour. No they do their job and that job only. No that is why the big 3 want our money so they can stay afloat and pay these wages and still put out a crappy product |

like any extortion scheme, it will catch up and good times are over. the uaw is finished now. no worker in their right mind will pay dues for wages and benefits that are similar to everyone else. AND NO THEY DONT work any harder than the rest. |

The big three shouldn't be bailed out unless the union workers get severe pay reductions. Even then, Chrysler should declare bankruptcy because it is by far the worst company of the three. No person should get paid $50/hr to put a tire on a car all day long. One doesn't need a college degree to do these jobs. These people should be making $15/hr. If they don't like it they should get a REAL job. As far as setting the economy into a further recession, big deal. If you currently have a steady job, then it won't affect you, the only people it will affect are the great union workers and people with low-end careers. |
