whenever you look at bids on yours or someone elses item there is always loads of bids from people like "Bidder 1" "Bidder 6" etc, is this because they want their I.D. to be hidden or are they getting the price up on their items or what?! |

Its ebays hidden id policy which was brought in to help prevent fake second chance offers being sent to bidders after the auction
its done a lot to decrease fraud in that direction as the bidders just get numbers when the item reaches £100 so cannot be emailed
the downside is that shill bidders may go undetected
better to not bid on these items |

read the ebay help pages. the answer is on there
ebay stopped listing peoples id on bid history so that unscrupuless people couldnt then email you a "special offer" outside of ebay. (nothing to do with them not wanting their cut of the commision, purely to stop you being ripped off - YEAH!!!) |

EBay offer you this option if you want to sell your item under a private sale and either you do not want people to contact your buyers and offer them similar items for sale or scam them with false items or if you want the item to be secret for whatever reason, perhaps you are embarrassed about this dont know anyway its not meant to be a scam but i suppose it could be used that way |

You should Report the people that do this, people put something up for sale and they make loads of accounts named bidder 1,2,3,4.........and so on, then with these other accounts they make higher bids on their items for sale so people will keep on bidding and they get more money for their items. |
