without delay, start wondering if there is a security system watching you and if so, you had best get your butt to work.

i am exactly the same! my boss regulary goes out to work on site and leaves me on my own, i keep finding something better to do on the internet or i use the phone a lot. iv started to improve now, i say to myself if i get it done with straight away just think of the lazyness to come when you havent got any work to do! |

This tickled me. I know exactly how you feel. There's just not anyone around to motivate you. I have a suggestion, never go into business by yourself from your home. I found it to be the hardest thing to get it going when I was alone. After a while, though, I knew things had to get done and I worked out a schedule and stuck to it.
Make a list of things you need to get done. Do each thing and then cross it off as you do them. This will motivate you to at least get most of it done and help you to stay off the internet (lol-it's so tempting!)
You WILL eventually have to account for things not done, either to your supervisor or to yourself. Make your list and you'll be much happier with yourself when it's time to lock up.

Oh dear ! I love being in the office on my own I get far more done yes everyone comes in and out wanting to chat but they never stay long and it makes a welcome break.
Set yourself a to do list each day and get it done you will be pleased with yourself it doesnt have to have many things on it. I cant think of anything worse than sitting there bored out of my tree because I couldnt motivate myself.
You need to show that you can get things done who knows someone important may be watching to see if you can cope and you may want to go higher in the company. It wouldnt do you any good with a report that says lacks motivation. |
