Why can't other businesses be like Pottery Barn?
I discovered online that an item I bought from Pottery Barn went on sale for $150 less than I paid them. When I called and asked about it, they asked me if I wanted them to issue my credit card a $150 credit to match the sale price. I said yes, and they did it. No forms, no hassle. Just a "Thank you for calling us," and the call center personnel were easy to understand with no difficult accents.
I'm happy to pay a little bit more when I receive superb service.
woo hoo!!!!
Sounds wonderful.
I have always spoken with a HUMAN when I have called them and they knew what they were talking about.
Good to know they honored a price deduction.
COOL! Now I like them more.

Other businesses are not like this because they value short-term profit over long-term customer satisfaction... It the whole "Wal-Mart-ization" of our country's business structure.
Plus pottery barn is probably one of the last few places to have a call center in the United States.

Pottery Barn seems to have found a differentiation to compete on. Good for them.
