Hello
Why do Managers like to use EXCEL?
Excel is the Microsoft program and why is it important to use the EXCEL PROGRAM?

Mr. Taco
The main two reasons are this:

1. Spreadsheets are an accurate and easy way to keep track of statistics, money, and information. They are flexible and pretty standard.

2. Excel is the most commonly used spreadsheet. Its common usage makes it ideal if you need to upgrade, transfer it, or use it with other commonly used programs. It is easy to integrate it into most business situations.

It is a product of the Microsoft near-monopoly, but it's a fact of life. I've hardly had a job my whole life that didn't use it.

Spreadsheets offer a very organized form of presenting data and Excel happens to be the best program out there.

It also offers many other perks with charts, graphs, functions, and the many other Excel specific options.

most managers have a lot of information to keep track of and deal with on a daily basis. excel can hold all that information and in a format that's simple, organized, and easy to access. it's like having a calculator with WORDS and numbers that can store tons of information and keep records for later use. you can also print it out for others to see and share with your employees online. i work at an office that doesnt deal with numbers as much as it deals with lots and lots of files coming in and out of the office regularly. excel helps us keep track of all them and use the information for things like printing out address labels for mass mailings without having to type out each indivdual one.

cause it's the greatest thing since sliced bread. It makes managing numbers/finances/everything MUCH easier.

B/c excel rocks. It's much better then access. It can compute mathematical totals for you. It has formulas you can apply to the mathematics. It's a no brainer program that does most of the work for you if it is set up right.

jim_elkins
It's so easy even a caveman can do it.

Excel is a spreadsheet program used to make lists and charts, as well as build formulas to input data. Managers use it to keep track of work that needs to be done, to track financial and physical growth of the company, and lots of other things. If you need to know how to use it, it's really self-explanatory if you use the "help" section in it. It walks you through most things.

It is an industry standard. It performs well, and is universal. Its simple, yet can be used in complex ways.

MS is the norm..unless you are in a hippy company

It is probably the oldest spreadsheet program in existence. The original, Visicalc, is long gone. The OpenOffice.org Calc spreadsheet, which is free, is probably just as good and can read and write the same files. Macros may not be compatible.

green13
because it can make most menial task turn into something incredibly confusing and take 4 hours just for a freaking spreadsheet. but somehow managers seem to find this amusing and equal to an animal jumping through rings of fire at a circus. power trip.

and i even took a single class in college devoted to excel. its a conspiracy to make us look like idiots.
