It is to save money and using time efficiently. Today, it is a 24 hours cycle. When one part of the globe is sleeping, another part of the globe is working. This is good for admin and some technical positions. |

Any successful corporation knows that they should stick to their core competency, and not try to be all things. There are some tasks or jobs that require specialized skills, but do not require full time personnel. In these cases, they outsource.
There are other cases where entire departments (like a call centre) that require specialized technology and lengthy hours of operation that are just not feasible for the corporation to set up and run. Again...these are excellent cases for outsourcing. Once the department or task becomes enough of a revenue source for the company, however, you will see the large corporations moving toward bringing them inhouse...when the expertise has been learned and the technology purchased. |

Because its far cheaper to pay somebody in China 2 cents an hour to make a shirt than to pay an American 13 dollars an hour. Sad but true. They make billions doing this. |

Corporations outsource because it is cheaper for them to have other companies do certain kinds of work than if they did it themselves. Companies don't really "make" money on outsourcing, they spend less than they would if they did the work themselves and this can make them more profitable. However, outsourcing doesn't always work as intended and sometimes it ends up costing companies more than they planned. |

saves/makes them money
if I want a new driveway, I could learn to finish concrete and buy a machine to do it,, etc, but I can hire someone that is an expert in the field and get it done in very little time and be assured of a good outcome. It just doesn't make sense for me to train in the field of concrete, etc, I can "outsource" that job,, no different for a corporation |

the ceo pockets a fortune for eliminating retirements and pensions etc. They then hire young people and do the same, with less benefits offered in the first place. it is the new American way. it is called s c rew you and it actually costs them money in productivity and waste on a useless ceo in the long run. |
