I've noticed that most of the call centres (in india, atleast) have got night shifts. why is that?
Because when it's night in India... it's usually day in America... that's where most of those calls originate from !!!

The majority of businesses that provide a service will have several call centers in different parts of the world to schedule service calls for customers who call in with whatever problem they are having at whatever time they are having it. The old "9-5 Monday thru Friday" was relegated to the ash heap a long time ago. The drawback to call centers in foreign countries is the language barrier and training inconsistancies. The biggest drawback - for American workers - is that these jobs are outsourced to begin with, which creates another void for job prospects coupled with the manufacturing abandonement. The job growth in America will be in mowing lawns for CEO's.
