In these countries, people desperately need money, so they are willing to work at very low prices. That is why a lot of companies choose to open factories in these countries, because obviously, they prefer to employ people whom they can pay less. This is called cheap labour. Sometimes it's very sad, because if you think about, fair trade (meaning that paying employees fairly) could be the first step to get rid of poverty. |
