In America we are allowed to complain about taxes. Income tax is the most evil form of tax. It suppresses the buying power of the middle class. We need to have a national sales tax, so that everyone pays and no deductions. Part of the equation is that our tax revenue needs to pay for defense of our nation and if that means to assist our allies in their right for sovereignty then so be it. Read your history, nations thoughout out time have assisted other nations. How do you think we became a democracy 230 years ago? We didn't do it alone and it gives you the right to complain without fear of reprisal. |

People I know complain when we spend 40% of the gp of the united states on social programs that give out hand outs to people who won't work.. However we only spend 8% on defense. The people in the world that dislike the United States are the ones we are that either are dictatorships or those of the Islam faith that want to us to convert of kill us. Those type of people we can do little to get them to like us until they change the Goran . |

They probably do care in significant numbers, but unfortunately in reality have little say over what actually happens to the money they pay in taxes.
If the politicians had to actually get the money directly from people with respect to Iraq and they had the choice of paying or not or choosing to direct their taxes in to education, pensions, primary research and health instead, do you think America and the UK would have gone it alone?

defense is only one slice of the pie, and not the biggest. We're drowning in entitlement debt, if you don't get that part, be sure to review on the web....the national debt now stands at 8.4 trillion dollars, and climbing, might even be 8.5 by now.
About the time we get to 13 trillion in red ink, the whole show's going to fold up like a cheap kite. Equally disheartening has been this 'republican' administration's apparent unwillingness to really get in there, and DIG for budget cuts. The general impression is that these guys are past masters at talking out of both sides of their mouths, disregarding the public's input all the while.
Budget savings aren't that hard to realize, you just have to get started and do it, you don't even have to fire anybody, but you might have to do things like institute pay cuts etc. But, it seems like these guys n gals have their priorities elsewhere...maybe the right answer is just to buy a big stack of T-bills, or gold or something. They always talk about buying gold on the radio etc... |

Americans are always scared to face anything within their land and hence help others to fight or they fight people who don't have weapons to satisfy themselves. Any amount of money can be spent for this.
