Why do people criticize Wall mart?
the buisness people say there bad for the econmy i think walmart is tight they think about the people that dont want to spend 200 dollars on 7 bags of groceries and that 200 dollars worth of groceries will be gone in 5 days

jugglehopper39
Jealousy....those other people think that they are taking their money instead of going towards their business. In turn they probably go there too

Because they're Democrats!!! All hail Walmart!!!

Stretch
Walmart is bad for a small economy because they kill off smaller competes that might be giving more back to the economy then is walmart.

crzyaltego
i agree with you, i shop at walmart all the time for the convenience and low price of one stop shopping. Some people say that it hurts our economy but at least all their stores employ tons of Americans(maybe not with the best pay or benefits). The concern should probably lie more with all the products and how they come from foreign countries due to outsourcing of manufacturing jobs....lets not open that can of worms.

walmart destroys small business and they treat their employees like garbage (bad benefits, no unions)

I love wal-mart I can spend 4 hours there. I Live in Colorado but I'm from California and they hate wal-mart there. yes I've heard about the small business thing. my opinion if your small business is popular you should have no worries.

Penguin
You get that for what you pay. They sell cheap stuff that blows apart in two weeks. The food they sell is cheap, but you get small portions. They do not treat nor pay their employees very well.

You like junk? Go ahead and waste your money!

Casey
I donno. I like walmart. Small businesses don't like Walmart because they can sell the same things to the public for a lot less. Also, you can just take your stuff back to Wal-mart, too. Also, Wa-mart, usually has Mcdonalds on the inside, and other things. Always the Wal-mart price..........always....

god knows and sees else Yahoo

media does, wal mart shoppers do not

ekleinert
their attitude towards their employees - they make you change shifts at a moments notice and if you can't they fire you!
They have an 'open dor' private policy but if you use it - it will be all over the management team and you will wind up being demoted
there are many more

Why? Hmm, let's see:
-- horrible to their workers (forced work without pay, no overtime paid when by law they had to, high turnover for no good reason, knowingly hired crews of illegal workers to keep costs down, on and on)

-- horrible to their suppliers (they don't pay invoices on time, in effect getting "loans" from suppliers, have made overt threats over pricing, buy around 70% of their products from overseas while claiming to "support USA", etc.)

-- have ruthlessly driven out small businesses that could be any competition to them in areas where they want to put in stores

-- have been caught (and fined) for bribing local officials to get zoning changes made so they can build more "superstores"...

There's more, but I think you get the picture. Sure, we love the low prices -- but those low prices come at too high a cost. :( I will not shop there.

dwh12345
They mistreat workers and suppliers and buy most from china..None is good for the economy

jnyscrp
Wal-mart is a corporate giant who does not care about anything else other than making $. they have no responsabilities to the communities they are set up in, poor pay, little to no benifits. Buy at the cheapest price and sell to make max profit.

Tell me why they wont let unions in in the US but in the 6 stores in China...yes China they have a union because the countries leaders stepped in and did not want them doing to their citizens what there are doing elswhere.

having eveything under 1 roof is nice but do the waltons need anymore houses?

G
Walmart is bad for small business owners trying to make an honest living.

king_ed.geo
Cause black people buy soo much cheap junk food there & they get fatter & fatter. And their kids get fatter and lazier. Productivity in the workplace goes down...they get fired..then the rest of society has to give them money from welfare.

Just take a look at the size of people & what they have in their basket next time you're in Walmart.
