Why do stores accept debit cards from every bank except Fifth Third?

Probably because they aren't on the stores network. I've run into that with my debit card IF I try to use it as a debit card, if I use it as credit it seems to work everywhere.

I don't know Fifth Third Bank, but my guess is they must have declined to sign on to one of the networks.

Fifth Third is not a bank. They will deplete your funds and destroy your crddit ratin g, assuming that you still have one. Identity theft,... uh oh.....

Stan N
Why not ask that bank?

Trent
I haven't heard of that bank. I suggest calling the bank and asking them why their ATM/debit cards aren't accepted in many locations. You know, if it's possible... switch banks.

Good luck

I have heard of them, I believe the name is Fifth-Third Bancorp. They were one of the larger banks before all of the bank merger activity in the later 90s'. It wouldn't be that they do not accept the bank's ATM card, but that Fifth-Third is using a non-mainstream ATM system, maybe one they had in place before the standardization on ATM networks such as "Star."

lynn g
there are no bank call fifth third okay.
