a) there was a story about this lady who got like, hit by a truck or something? And walmart didn't want to cover her medical bill. I don't remember the full story, but it ticked me off for them to be so unfair.

because wal-mart is entitled to anybodies money they get if they fall, and most employee's work part time cause thats all they will offer them, so they don't get benefits.

Wal-Mart kind of overdoes it as far as how many of them there are. In my town, they had at one point 5 of them. That's pretty excessive. A single town doesn't need 5 Wal-Marts. |

assuming this really happened, I don't like Wal-Mart because in many places it drove small businesses out of town. It also was a leading cause for manufacturers going overseas. So while in the short term it helped Americans out, in the long run it has helped to undermine the basis for the American economy.
Also on a more personal level, there always seems to be a line, and only two registers open. One time they didn't want to give me a refund even though I had the receipt for the product. I got loud enough, and told them that I wanted call the Cops and they gave in. Wal Mart is basically the worst store I shop at. |

What nonsense, I and everybody I know loves Walmart, they give their throw aways to food pantries, and have discounted items during this recession to help people survive it. They also provide many Americans with work and a paycheck. What nonsense - you don't even provide a valid source for such ridiulous rumors. Every Walmart and SAMs club gives extensively to the communities they serve as well and they are moving towards green energy and saving people money. More power to WALMART. |

WalMart is good for Rx glasses and getting CD's unless they have taken off the Parental Control. However, I feel the only people that go to WalMart are trailer trash Hicks. Thats why I only go there if I REALLY have to, or otherwise I will be shopping at Target!! |

I love wal-mart, i spend 150 on groceries compared to 250 at a regular grocery store, which means i save MONEY, whats not to like about that? I guess rich people probably hate it because they would be saving money going there |

Because It is ruining our Economy and the reason why all these Mom & Pop stores are going out of business.
people who have lost everything are resorted to working and seniors who should be retired are now people greeters and customers change their diapers in the parking lot, and RV's stay there for weeks on end never move and they offer no benefits to employees making them slaves to the company because they have taken all the jobs that were once there out of the area.
Walmart puts people out of business. People have gone from $15-30/40 an hour to know everyone working part-time or $8.

According to the commercial. Wal-Mart gets its merchandise from communist China and is sending jobs over seas or giving illegal immigrants jobs or something.

Walmart made us stop collecting toys, clothes, and food for the needy at the store. This was in spite of the fact that we had a written contract, which included our providing a Santa House at the Walmart. (We did not charge for the Santa house.) Our non-profit group did not take legal action. But, many of us have boycotted Walmart ever since.
Newsweek or Businees Week had a recent article about child labor camps that they claimed were for goods to be sold at Walmart. THese were in China. They claim over 75% of goods sold in Walmart are made in China. This causes many americans to be out of work.
There was an article in the News Journal that said, in effect, that over 30% of the employees at Walmart qualify for food stamps. This is why they protested the distribution center in Snow Hill, MD. They did not want a welfare state created.

because walmart's are dirty, and the aisles are crammed all the time, poor lighting, i've never meet an employee that even tried to pretend to like their job there, and they threatened their employees and told them if Obama got into office they would lay off workers. it's just kinda a sucky environment that i don't want to be in. i try to avoid it as much as possible unless it's like 1 in the morning and i need something really bad. Now i would never go as far as throwing rocks at cars because of it, but i just think walmart it low-class place to shop. Plus i've worked at target for 4 years, and i love it there, target is everything that walmart is not, besides the fact that walmarts prices are sometimes lower, but i think the service you get a target (and pretty much any other retail store besides walmart) is much better and i feel like my business actually matters at other places, at walmart i don't think they give a crap about anything but getting people to shop there (by lowering prices) so the "big guys" in the company can drive their Bentley's. |
