Ok maybe I should say.... I used to be a walmart associate... I was a cashier and quickly moved up to CSM (customer service manager) which is basically an entry lvl management positition...So I am speaking from experiance.. just wondered if anyone else had had bad experiances with that company.. |

im not really familiar with the situation, but i would guess that its because they can be treated that way, i.e they probably are poorly qualified and this is the best they can get. thus they are in a weak bargaining position, in america i presume those in a weak position in any sort of business are automatically exploited due to the culture. |

my son works at a walmart in connecticut; they now implemented a dress code so they now have to spend more money that they don't have; they were having a company picnic and were told to bring their own food; that isn't a company sponsered picnic just normal lunch for the employees; some stores got bonus not the Naugatuck, CT store b/c of a store manager who doesn't have a clue so they didn't even get the 300.00 extra; they hire assistant managers who just fell off the turnip truck; move the items here no there no here ; just goes to show you that there are management positions for stupid people; the workers have more sense and just watch the hamsters spin the wheel until they can find another job or finish school. |

overal Wal-Mart doesnt. those stories u hear on the news are isolated incidents..Its a huge company and they have hundreds of thousands employees. i use to be a general manager of a walmart i worked my way up from a stock boy in 10 years. its a great compamy. the thing that u can argue is that they are bad for small ma and pop stores. i agree with that |

What the hell are you talking about. I know plenty of Wal-Mart associates, past and present, and have never heard a complaint out of one of them. From what I've seen since Sam Walton died, the associates, which are the corporation, from the top down have let the place go to pot. There are no Wal-Mart "employees"! |

I am not a person who believes that conspiracies are lurking around every corner. Nonetheless, when it comes to Wal-Mart, there are several organizations, most of which are funded by unions, that have destroying Wal-Mart as their whole mission. Since unions are basically irrelevent in most industries and losing more members each day, they employ scare tactics against Wal-Mart to try and organize employees at this very large employer. Rather than try to sell the merits of unions - that doesn't work - they start sham organizations and try to scare people into joining unions. That isn't working either. But it has made people believe Wal-Mart is evil. It's not. Just ask anyone who works there. |
