Why does the shop 'Niketown' feel they have the right to rip off people?
I can get the same merchandise much cheaper elsewhere. Why do people even bother shop there?

As long as people are paying those ridiculous prices, they will continue. I think a lot of people think its "cool" to say they bought something at Niketown. I really don't know. But, their prices really are crazy! You would think with it being "Niketown" it would be a little cheaper... NOPE!

Alf Garnet
For as long as there are gullable eedjits out there who can't possibly be seen without labels on their person, the companies behind these labels will continue to demand higher and higher premiums for their product. The quality of that product is no better than the supposedly 'inferior' unlabeled product yet because it says 'Nike' or 'Adidas' or Lacoste the price seems to acquire extra digits. It's all a swizz and stupid people fall for it, hook, line and sinker!

Avignon_11
Yeah, I could say the same thing about a lot of businesses. They are greedy. They have a hyped-up product and they know there is a certain percentage of fools out there who will pay their price to get it.

sportyrb2
Cos it's Niketown and they do so we can talk about it on things like this...obviously...duhhh, only kiddin. they shouldn't have the right, right!? xxx

Monica
the same reason gucci, prada, armani, tommy hilfiger, chanel, manolo blahnik, christian dior, dolce and gabanna etc etc do - people who have more money than sense will buy their products because of the name.

Nancy Kay
For prestige and foolish spending, I suppose...here in the Beverly Hills store mostly what you see shopping inside are foreign tourists...after all, they are in Beverly Hills and it's the NIKE name!

Slutlana
well, it's like any other name brand. You can by dolce and gabanna from this season from them directly or get it next season at tjmaxx 50% off. If you want the best and right away you go to the source. Of course other stores get them too and put them on sale and stuff- but here at the Newbury street Boston store I know they have a program where if you bought the sneakers there they can be replaced for life if anything happens to air bubbles and stuff- no matter how worn. There are certain perks but the stuff is available elsewhere. Also- the people on newbury street don't really care about saving a buck they care about being the first to have the best from a name brand.

Niketown is the answer to "fashionville" where it is good to be seen shopping there! More money than sense.

I guess the only advantage is that is is the latest merchandise from nike.
