Why does walmart mistreat their employees?, simply because they can, The federal government does little to stop it, Walmart has a policy to bully employees into doing what mangers want, If you cause any kind of problem,or even speak up about a little problem, they fire you to make the problem go away. Most people fail to keep documentation on what walmart does to them, their for theirs little to hold up in court. Walmart will bully most people to make the problem go away, if not they will draw out and court appoinments in hopes that you will give up and not pursue in. |

I worked for Walmart in Canada and they are rotten to work for. They finally have NO CASHIERS AT ALL and are losing tons of money ha ha!! They watch their employees with cameras, it is highly disorganized, the wages are too low (although here it is 11 an hour and rising due to the oilboom here in canada). They got me to give a test to a cas hier one day and pretend i was stealing and see if she did a perfect job- asked all the proper robot questions they have to ask each customer that goes thr ough the lineup- if they dont get 90 they are fired. I had a lipstick a new purse (to try to steal it for the test)- I did not like to have to do that to a coworker but this is their mentality. The coworker was quite mad with me after and would not talk with me. So much for the WALMART FAMILY attitude that we as coworkers are all family!! There are other problems that their policy causes too and if a minority if harassing a white person- they get away with it cause management does not want to get involved so usually the white person has to quit!! |

wal-mart is the cheapest company there is all they care about is making money and in doing so bringing down the USA they love china's sweatshops where there workers get a dime an hour if that, one day somebody is going to unionize wal-mart then no more roll back prices, i hope they go lose their foot hold in this country and stay in china where they belong |

WAL-MART IS NON-UNION SO THERE IS NO ONE POLICING WHAT THEY DO..........UNTIL AND UNLESS THE EMPLOYEES FILE SUIT.
WAL-MART MOVES INTO LOW ECONOMY ENVIRONMENTS AND KNOW PEOPLE THERE ARE DESPERATE FOR JOBS. SO THEY TREAT THE EMPLOYEES ANY WAY THEY WANT KNOWING PEOPLE NEED TO WORK TO SURVIVE. |

Don't apply for work there. Get a job elsewhere. Who are we to judge others that say they like what Walmart has to offer?
Or.. are you better than those other people? (Democrats seem to think THEY are better than people who need to work low end jobs.. remember.. Hillary was on their BOARD!) |

Wal-mart is a mega-corporation more worried about bottom line than wages.
Also, it seems a fallacy of logic to work at Wal-mart to get a career, most people realize it is a part time job with low pay, to expect more is sort of like asking a beggar for money, it just doesn't make sense.
That aside, their policies do suck, but they lack the competition. If you wish you could open your own business of the same type offering the same types of things, and pay fair wages and treat your employees well. That would help them with their policies as they'd have competition. |

Their employees are people with few skills, and not usually employable anywhere else.
I love walmart, they sell stuff hella cheaper than elsewhere, i buy tp, paper towels, garbage bags, etc, in the biggest boxes possible form walmart..i bought a miter box yesterday for 13 bucks, the same thing was 15 bucks at home depot.
The glidden paint they sell at walmart is good stuff, its 15 bucks a gallon, and better than the 25 dollar paint at lowes.
I LOVE WALMART!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

As a former wal-mart employee, i must say i agree with you. But, the wages really are determined by in what area you work in. I originally worked at a wal-mart in West virginia and made like 5 bucks an hour. I moved to daytona beach florida and made almost 10.
The money is not bad if people do not have post high school education. That is if you live in a highly populated area |

They do it to keep their prices low. Benefits eat into their profit margin.
And in many rural places, there's not a thing anyone can do about it because they're the only major employer.
And they're big enough to lobby to keep the government from interfering. |
