Why don't British Gas EVER reply to complaints?

*Hollow laugh.
You need to send it in triplicate - once through the complaints page on the website, once through the contact us on the website, and in both advise them you are sending a copy recorded delivery. It will take 3 weeks to answer. If you complain over the phone they just make nice noises and don't make notes or even record the fact you called. You have been warned.

I did offer the definitive guide to this on ebay, but nobody was interested....

Not only do Brit Gas fail to respond to complains, they have also failed to reduce the retail price of gas knowing that the wholesale price has dropped by about 25% since earlier in 2006.

Perhaps if we all flooded the Brit Gas website with e-mails complaining about their attitude to us their customers, they may eventually get the message. This only after they have suffered a serious system crash resulting from all of us e-mailing at once.

If someone will suggest a time for doing this, I will gladly take part.

POWER TO THE PEOPLE.

Few companies do.

If any company replies to it's complaints, it costs money. In the case of British Gas, I'm still waiting for a response myself. I don't expect to hear from them, however, if it's regarding a mix up over a final bill, just hang on to your money. They'll soon be in touch.

Wouldn't you like to know
Because either the British ge a whole lot of complaints or they're just stuck-up dumba**'s.

This is the problem with big-business capitalism; they don't reply because they don't really care. What's it to them if you switch to someone else when they have millions of customers, many of which are tied in to using their services (thanks to those "freeze your bills until 2009") offers.

British Gas and other corporations can claim to be "doing the right thing", but ultimately- and this is the whole principal of capitalism- they operate in order to grab the largest amount of money from you using the least possible effort.

Thats the system we live in. And I for one would like to see something done about it! :)

Because they are a big company so they don't have to care. They'll make money anyway.

Watchdog did a piece about them a few weeks back. They were named the worst company in UK for dealing with complaints and replying to letters etc (I disagree, I think the TV Licensing people are even worse, but Watchdog wouldn't do a thing about them, now would they). BG wheeled out their spin meister who said that they were trying to improve, getting more customer service people etc., etc., but they always say this, don't they

Perhaps Yahoo Answers complaints department is ran by the same people.
