Why is Google worth so much more than Yahoo?
Most people I know spend 10 times as much time on the Yahoo sites than Google. They visit Yahoo news, movies, maps etc.

Most people go on to the Google search engine, type a few words and they're gone. And the people I know rarely click on the "sponsored links". So why is Google worth more than GM, Ford, and Chrysler combined?

Google is new kid on the block and is doing things differently, whereas Yahoo is still stuck in the same old mold!

First thing first, Google has the most advanced search engine in the world running in the most beautifully designed computer systems which comprise of low-cost machines.

Second, Google has one of the best engineers in the world who are working in one of the best working environments to date.

Third, its homepage is simple, and fast! There are not so many distractions to info seekers.

Fourth, Google advertising software portfolio including Adwords and Adsense are much more superior than that of Yahoo.

Fifth, Google still has a lot of other well-known applications and sites such as the Google Desktop, Earth, etc.

Finally, every loves Google. Though they just come and leave a short while after their visit. They come very often. Search sponsor links are not the only one. You can see Google ads everywhere on almost every website that serves ads. Dont you forget about DoubleClick? We used Adsense and we thought it was really cool for the web-owner in terms of additional revenue.

Google is used more often than other search engines since it provides ample information..much more than other websites..its a mixture of all websites combined.

It's not the actual sites that generate $$$, but what they do with the sites. Google search engines power universities and businesses, plus they have a ton of advertising holdings, as well as Youtube.

google adsense....google's ad revenue machine!
google also own many other sites, the most famous of which is youtube.com/

also...google video is also used by companies for trailers....

the are just a company with so many different uses....it just started with a search engine...

because google makes a lot more money than yahoo and is growing faster. google makes all its money from paid search (where google has a dominant share) and yahoo does better with community sites and its portal...

Even though you only go there for a minute, your results are better. And bottom line: Google works - always. Not sometimes, not when the staff feels like updating - always. Just because you or your friends aren't clicking sponsered links doesn't mean the billions of Google users aren't.

I've used Google since it went live - and will continue to do so. Have you tried gmail or other services? Again...always work. That's why.
