Actually, McDonalds appeals to EVERYONE while Starbucks may not. Starbucks does have children's drinks... but not food.
McDonald's is the best.

McDonalds is bringing on their "McBistro" which is right in the Starbucks market ... very upscale, very well thought out.
And I am sure that McDonalds will make a better effort than Starbucks at keeping consumer costs down. |

McDonalds is starting a very aggressive foray into coffee drinks...lattes, espressos, etc. and selling them much cheaper than Sbux (which is not all that hard to do). McDonalds is betting that people really don't care all that much about the "Starbucks Experience" and will flock to high-quality, cheaper coffee beverages. They may be right...Sbux has changed their upper management (bringing back the guy who started it) and is trying to compete. |

that's odd.
because they do appeal to a different market.
and although mcdonald's has coffee, it's nowhere as good as starbucks.
maybe because it's cheaper, and lazy people can make a quick pick up.
