The idea is that the comedy is visual.
That's why it's shown in so many countries around the world. It does not matter about language when someones mannerisms are funny. It's also meant to be evocative of Chaplain, and a French comedian from the fifhties. Any French people, please excuse my ignorance upon forgetting his name. |

Mr. Bean can talk, but he talks with one of those low, muffled tones. Like, instead of "love" he would say "lof" especially since he comes from the UK. |

mr. Bean can talk you should watch his new movie Mr Beans Holiday. he has a few speaking lines in it. But you may have trouble with it playing in your dvd player I did but it worked in our gaming systems. |

When Rowan Atkinson developed this character over about 10 years he decided that if Mr. Bean were to talk he would no longer be as funny, as this is phyiscal comedy it relies greatly on phyiscal aspects - this is the difference between stand-up comedy. So basically he is just more funny this way. |
